I'm excited to share the news, that at last week's board meeting Wediko voted me in as the new President of the Board of Directors. I'm truly honored that an organization like this has the confidence in me to help lead them into the next phase of their ongoing service to help children.

Wediko Children’s Services is pleased to announce that renowned author, activist, and digital media specialist C.C. Chapman has been elected president of Wediko’s Board of Trustees.

Founded in 1934, Wediko Children’s Services is among the nation’s most enduring mental health organizations serving children and families, with offices in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York.  Mr. Chapman’s election pays tribute to Wediko’s longstanding commitment to helping all children succeed while signaling the advancement of Wediko’s innovative practices and outreach methods.

“C.C. Chapman has extensive experience engaging diverse audiences and bringing coalitions of people together,” said Pat Grant, outgoing Board president.  “C.C. brings vigor and a vibrant leadership style to Wediko’s Board alongside of his deep commitment to Wediko’s mission and traditions.”

A graduate of Bentley University, Mr. Chapman is an authority on digital marketing and content creation holding positions such as Digital Marketing Director for Babson College, Creative Director at Campfire, and Co-Founder of The Advance Guard. Mr. Chapman is best known for his passionate speaking in global venues and prolific writing online and his books, Content Rules! (with Ann Handley) and Amazing Things Will Happen: A Real-World Guide on Achieving Success and Happiness. Most importantly, Mr. Chapman is committed to “work that matters,” providing humanitarian aid through the United Nations Foundation and ONE, educating on the youth unemployment crisis, and advocating for children’s mental health services .

Mr. Chapman’s election follows the announcement that Patrick Grant, Jr. would not seek another term as Board president after 35 years of service and leadership.  Mr. Grant has served on Wediko’s Board of Trustees since 1979 and was elected president in1981. Although Mr. Grant is stepping down as president, he will continue to serve as a trustee for the organization he helped to grow.

“Thanks to Pat’s enduring service, Wediko is well-prepared for a new generation of accomplishment; C.C.’s innovative spirit will inspire us to build that future together,” said Dr. Amy Sousa, Wediko’s Executive Director.

Mr. Chapman is eager to get to work forging new partnerships for Wediko and sustaining the lasting relationships that have been the hallmark of Wediko’s exemplary service to vulnerable children and families.
