Why Argue With The Muse?

Every creative has felt the tug from her.

That scratch inside your brain that won't let go. It calls out to be let loose and play.

You tell her to go away. Come back when you need her to help you push through the words and images, but not now. Now isn't the right time.

Since the dawn of time we've tried to push her back. To only wish for her to arrive when summoned.

The Muse doesn't work that way.

Why do we even try to argue? My best guess is that it has something to do with our Lizard Brain battling her for control of our actions.

An age old war that will be fought until the end of time? Most likely.

This week The Muse screamed in my ear. She set the table and told me to eat and no matter how many times I told her that my plate was full, she pushed harder.

In the end I realized it was silly to argue. I know better.

I gave in and let her ideas pour through and come out.

It wasn't what I expected. It wasn't what I would have ever thought.

But, I enjoyed it.

I liked this new vein of creativity she had tapped that I hadn't tasted in many years.

Fiction? Sure, I can do that.
