TBEX Opening Keynote
Last week just before I went on stage at BlogWorld, I was approached by the organizers and asked if I could give the opening keynote this weekend at TBEX 12.
The conference is billed as "the world's largest gathering travel bloggers, writers, and new media content creators" and is taking place at the Keystone Resort in the mountains of Colorado.
There were logistics to be worked out and only having a week's notice to deliver a keynote is not easy, but I don't think there was any way I could ever say no.
If you know me at all, you know that while I still haven't done that much of it, I love to travel. Seeing new places, meeting interesting people, trying new foods and capturing it all in my writing and images is what I love to do. Honestly if I could travel the globe with my family and do this, I would.
I first heard about TBEX a few years ago and ever since I've wanted to attend. I want to do more travel writing and the dream of being paid to write columns and shoot photographs for magazines or travel bureaus is a goal of mine. I thought this conference would be the perfect place for me to find out how to make this dream a reality.
Now suddenly I'm not only going, but I'm going to be on stage in front of everyone sharing my expertise on content marketing and how to make sure that what you create is engaging enough to earn people's attention. With this audience, they've already got a leg up since travel is filled with nothing but amazing content so it should be a fun chat.
I'd love to meet as many people as possible while I'm there.
I'm arriving tomorrow and will be leaving Saturday afternoon so that I can be home for Father's Day. That doesn't give me much time, but I'm beyond excited and hope that after answering questions from the stage that I can find my answers I'm seeking as well.
Safe travels!
