Wanderlust
My whole life I've had an insatiable case of wanderlust.
With a trip to Kenya already in the works and one other international trip before the end of the year that I'm not yet allowed to talk about, I'm going to finally add some more stamps to my passport and I'm excited.
This morning, a series of new videos from Rick Mereki hit my radar.
Simply title Eat, Learn and Move, they follow the journey of three men around the globe. As it says in the description: "3 guys, 44 days, 11 countries, 18 flights, 38 thousand miles, an exploding volcano, 2 cameras and almost a terabyte of footage... all to turn 3 ambitious linear concepts based on movement, learning and food ....into 3 beautiful and hopefully compelling short films....."
They certainly did and they turned my wanderlust up to 11.
My favorite of the three is Learn which you can watch below.
It may not be as visually stimulating as the other two, but it highlights my favorite thing to do when traveling and that is to learn something new and take part in an experience that I will always remember. It doesn't matter if it is drinking in a German beer garden, paddling through the Boundary Waters or drinking a home brewed beer in San Francisco, every experience becomes a special memory for me.
I firmly believe that a good life is one of constant learning and the only way to truly learn is to take part in and do what you want to learn. Of course once you learn anything, you should share it with everyone you can. Life is nothing but one big circle.
So, as I pack up the bags to head to New Hampshire this weekend I'm eager for a little adventure and soon.
