The Full Sail Experience

Last week while New England was getting covered in snow, I slipped out to spend a few days in Orlando, Florida at Full Sail University. Before a few of my friends started teaching there, I had never even heard of the school.

Now, after spending two days with the staff and students there I can't wait to tell everyone about the school.

If you want to work behind the scenes in the music, movie or gaming industry then Full Sail is a school that you must check out. To call it "hands on" would be an understatement. It was obvious from visiting classrooms across their degrees that students come here to learn by doing rather than by reading a book about something. I love that.

They also have business degrees and a huge thank you to the Full Sail's Internet Marketing Department for bringing the Content Rules Book Tour to campus. As of right now they are the only College or University that has made this happen so I will always hold a special place in my heart for them and their support.

We had a packed house and live stream for my presentation and I can't wait to get a copy of it because it felt pretty good to me. But, the highlight for me was sitting down with eight students who were close to graduation and talking with them about the future and answering their questions. I've always loved mentoring others and this filled that need perfectly. I was amazed at how each of them knew exactly what they wanted to do with their lives. I certainly didn't at that age.

I'm hoping this isn't the last thing I do with Full Sail. I was so impressed with their program and approach to education that I hope I can do more with them in the future.
