Creative Spirit, Kindle 2 & Another Crazy Week
This morning I came downstairs to find Dylan in the living room playing on his DS and Emily in Laura's office drawing on the crafts table. She said that she thought of something during the night and wanted to make sure she created it this morning. I love that about her. I see a lot of myself in her. She is always thinking, day dreaming and creating. Kids don't know that they can't do something. If they think it up then it must be possible.
The problem is as we grow older, more and more people say "you can't do that" and kids start to listen. I try to never say that to them unless it is obviously something dangerous or not right, but I don't want to stifle their imagination. I hope she never loses that playful creative spirit.
My new Kindle arrived yesterday. I loved the old one so of course I'm going to love the new one. Is it worth upgrading if you have one already? My gut reaction is it isn't worth it.
No earth shattering, "must have" new features as far as I can tell. I do like the smarter plug, the new sleeker design and the improved keyboard. But, I'm baffled by the fact that it doesn't come with a case and the new power switch bugs me. If you've never owned one and want one then buy one today. I love owning one and reading more because of it. If you've already got the first generation one, I'd hold on to it for a bit.
This has been a crazy week. Crazy in a good way for the most part, but just lots of out of the blue phone calls, discussions and happenings. All hopefully leading to some great new things, but you never really know until they happen do you?
Tonight I'm speaking at a Bentley Alumni Event. They asked me to speak specifically about using Facebook and LinkedIn. I'm looking forward to it and I hope people get some good information out of it. Only so much you can cover in an hour, but I plan on giving them plenty to noodle on and then go home and execute.
Thursday morning is here and I want to make sure it is as good of a day as can be. I hope it is.
