A Little Bit of Catching Up

Next week is going to be one of THOSE weeks. The kind where to the public it might look like I'm living the good life on the streets of New York, hanging out with great people and having a great time. Sure, there will be some of that, but at the end of the day the fact that I have meetings all over the city, a conference to attend AND another to speak at, plus servicing Campfire clients and hopefully rocking the socks off of a new one. The reason I'll be in New York is to attend Web 2.0 and to co-present with my good friend Kristin Brandt at Web2Open.

This will be my first time attending the conference and my understanding is that it is huge. Just looking at the shear number of people I know who are going to it makes it feels almost like a mini tech version of SXSW without all the great barbecue and on the east coast. Ok, so I guess as I type that it is nothing like SXSW. *laugh*

Movember - Friday the 13thWhat else is going on? I'm still growing this funny facial hair to raise money for cancer research as part of Movember. The scary thing is that it is finally coming in and doesn't look as bad as I thought it might. We are raising a lot of money, but nearly as much as I had hoped for. Have you made a donation yet? It would be awesome if you did!

This week, I also pushed out some content that I'm really psyched about. Interviewing the US Army on Managing the Gray was certainly cool to do and I really believe in what they are doing at Army Strong Stories. It is a campaign that I am going to drill into the head of every potential and current client to show them that if the Army can do something like this, so can they.

Accident Hash #296 also dropped with some great new music on it even though I was very down with the news of Owen's father passing. I want to give that guy a hug in the biggest way right now.

Last night we had a family night on the town. It was really a Father's Day present, but we all sort of forgot about that. We went to dinner and then took in Fiddler on the Roof which was great. The kids had an awesome time and Laura has always loved that play and it was the first time she had seen it done professionally so there were smiles all around.

As you can see there has been and will be plenty of going on and even with catching everyone up I know there are some things I'm leaving out. I talked about the other day how my head was bubbling with new ideas and it is a great feeling. Still not enough time to do all the things I want to do, but I love having multiple creative projects going on that get me excited.

Oh, I know something I forgot! I had my first article for Fast Company with me interviewing JC Hutchins go live. Can't believe I almost forgot that.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and I can't wait to see many of you next week in New York. If I look stressed from all the running around the city just give me a hug or buy me a drink. Either one will work. *grin*
