No Computer Weekend
I took a mini vacation from the computer this weekend. Getting into Logan at 7 am on Saturday morning started it. Taking the red eye back from San Francisco was fine, but I never sleep well on planes, but I so badly wanted to be back for Dylan's soccer game. They lost 2-1, but it was still a great game. After some lunch at Tony's (still one of the best burgers out there) we got home and I crashed. Slept until dinner time and didn't hear anything in the almost 4 1/2 hours of sleep. It was the best decision I made not to try and stay awake.
Yesterday we did lots of little things around the house which included a trip to two different Lowe's in order to exchange the bags for my lawnmower since the one they gave us the first time was the wrong size. In the end we didn't get nearly as much done as we wanted to, but I had zero urge to turn on a computer or check my e-mail. It was very nice.
Best part was that my inbox wasn't quite as insane as I thought it might be this morning. Lots to do, but that isn't going to stop. Lunch today with some old buddies from Babson and hopefully mowing the lawn now that I have the right things for the mower. Overly domesticated I know, but it has got to get done.
Unplugging is always a great thing and something that I think far to few of us do on a regular basis. Don't be afraid to try it. If people REALLY need to get a hold of you there is a neat little thing called the phone that works as well.
